How I plan to spend my break between semesters, a daily check-list

Yesterday I submitted my last paper of the spring semester. I completed my first year of doctoral studies. The program I am in pretty much goes full-year. On June 7th I continue this journey…onward to year two. Before then, I have plans. I will be coming back to this post daily to identify what I have been able to do:

  • Set up the vegetable garden for the summer: not yet
  • Sleep in past 9 a.m.: not yet
  • Listen to two audiobooks: one audiobook
  • Install the air conditioners: done
  • Go to the river: not yet
  • Plan a weekend away with the family for July or August: not yet
  • Practice guitar at least 30 minutes a total of 15 times: 7 times to date
  • Read one book: half way done
  • Go for an afternoon hike: not yet
  • Meditate 10 times. Running count: 6
  • Have lunch with a friend: not yet
  • Make a root beer float: done
  • Pick strawberries from the front garden: done
  • Sleep in a tree house: not yet

What I hadn’t thought of doing that I did do:

  • Watched: “Match” with Patrick Stewart, “Cruella”, caught up on “The Handmaid’s Tale”
  • Ordered a Vox blues headphone amp
  • Had coffee on the porch, on the rocking chair on a Sunday afternoon
